Surreal Seasons

Here is something a little different. Above are 4 beautiful background sized images for your enjoyment. I love surreal art and photography, and these 4 pieces embody the surreal style. The first image is my all-time-favorite. With a glimpse into all four seasons happening concurrently it conjures up beautiful thoughts and emotions. I can remember times of my life with each of these seasons and love looking at this picture. Enjoy the backgrounds!

New York Coffee Girl

This beautiful picture was taken in a StarBucks coffee shop in New York. I really like the gracefulness on this photo and the model. It has been professionally retouched and the background tweaked, but that add to over overall effect and theme of a women just waiting in line for a simple cup of coffee while the world buzzes around her to busy to care or take the time to admire her beauty.

While holding her heart and looking into her mobile with longing eyes this pictures really is symbolic. Everybody being forced to keep so very busy just to get by. He lightly tanned skin really stands out against her unique and beautiful fashion as well as the plain yet cluttered backdrop.

Overall a nice alluring picture with a hint of sadness and regret. I love it.

Simple White Stockings

Absolutely beautiful. The lighting is perfect, with a simple background and and excellent and sexy model. Besides, who doesn't like stockings? This picture truly defines the an art form, simple yet ascetically please and beautifully crafted with rollings shadows and soft details.

The only thing that could make this photo better would be more pictures. But then again that would detract from the simple beauty. Soft well cared for feet should be a more common sight in the main stream photography community. It could be than so few people take care of the unseen parts that few are able to participate in the finner art forms.

Three Female Harajuku Portraits

Three more pictures from a different Sunday at the gathering point of "Cosplayers" near Harajuku station. I find that some people really get to the spirit of things and take on a completely different persona, at least I hope its a different persona, from their normals lives.

While talking with the girl in this first picture, (Red flowing gown and her companion dresses completely in black) it stuck me as odd for the two to coordinate and pretend to be husband and wife, if only for a day. The joys of having simple, yet expensive imaginary fun...

This second picture of a girl in a long and flowing black gown was the most spectacular character I witnesses. Never stepping out of her assumed persona for even a second. Her clothes, her manner and everything about her down to the lunch she packed was in character. (I observed her eating black rice balls and drinking bright red juice)

I stayed and talked with the woman in the final picture for nearly an hour. We talked about all sorts of things, but mainly centering on the fact that she is a housewife who, once a week, gets dresses up in assorted cute and sexy outfits and walks around the area posing for pictures and just enjoying the scenery as she put it. A every interesting woman, an amazingly cute.

Tokyo's Harajuku Sunday Cosplay

Every Sunday near Harajuku station in Tokyo Japan crowds gather dressed up in what the Japanese have dubbed "Cosplay." That is dressing up in fanciful costumes based on popular anime, manga or movie heroes.

Here we have a photo taken recently of a young girl dress up in all white, red shoes and a bright pink wig. This is the classic "Innocent" side of the Gothic Lolita Fashion.

I rather like this photograph, it seems to portray the seeming innocence that the Japanese often wear as outsiders look on. But as we can clearly see this is just a costume and is easily removed. Such as symbolic as the classic Japanese practice to wear personalities in certain company and change these personalities just as easily as this girl removing her costume.
